Doctors Online Communication Community (DOCC) is an electronic messaging platform created by medical specialists, hospital administrators, and software engineers to deliver messages electronically, in real time.
Primary users of DOCC are physicians and their office staff, hospital staff and administrators. Each can access the network through his/her own specific portal. Physicians can request specialty consultations, communicate directly with one another, arrange for on-call coverage, and route calls via a physician portal. Hospitals and their administrative staff can message their physicians directly via a portal dedicated entirely to the hospital. Employees in physician practices can communicate with their physicians with an office portal.
